For once I have actually not allowed myself to throw on iTunes. So here comes the chirp of a bird. Almost like it's having a long distance conversation. He takes a breath between each lyric - because to us we understand the rhythm and the conversation's fluid motion as a birdsong. And it is one that would wake any sleeping agent from the deepest of dreams. Between each chirp there is a second of silence. Now, maybe you'll disagree with me because of the humming fan in the living room where I'm sitting, or the constant buzz from other small creatures outside, but this is silence for me in comparison to my playlists being plugged in everywhere.
And I am at ease, contented with the life I've been given.
The business of the day will begin in just over an hour. I will end up driving about 50 miles. Hopefully I won't hit any traffic, but that hasn't been my luck lately. I'm not sure where my prayer life will be today even if I can consider myself as having one. I don't know if I'll open the Bible, even though it will be with me where I go, having a copy in my trunk, on my laptop, and on my iPod. Three options and I can't tell you whether I'll make use of any of them. I can't tell you where God will be in my life today. But I know that for a few more minutes this morning, before a normal day as I know it begins, I will sit in silence in the living room enjoying the simplicity of life.

Hi! Thanks for the comment. I do actually know about Not For Sale. I discovered them through a research project I did for Sociology. But thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteAnd I see you must be talking about Deanna...she's my cousin, actually.
But yeah, thanks for the comment. I'll be sure to read through your blogs. They seem pretty interesting at first glance.
